Dad's birthday and "ben's" new toys..

So I guess when your 30+ it doesn't really matter that it is your birthday anymore...
I think Ben received more gifts than Pete did...

For months Pete and I have talked ourselves out of buying the Hitchhiker bike for Ben. Until today, we finally caved. But it is super cool!

Naughty Easter Bunny

Last night - Ben was helping put groceries away, and he told us the the Easter Bunny was naughty because he forgot to put bananas and apples in his basket. That darn rascally rabbit, what was he thinking giving Ben chocolates!?

I love when Ben asks for something to eat - he's wanting fruit, not candy.

*this could possibly lead to a therapy reason further down the road

First Camping trip 2009

We went on our first camping trip of the year.. and it was great, as always!
Ben's favorite parts of camping were:
1. fishing - "even if the fish didn't want to eat the worm"
2. s'mores - ben loves him some s'mores
3. sleeping in his sleeping bag
4. FLASHLIGHTS!

Ben enjoyed fishing so much - like all kids.. he wanted to reel it in to make sure his bait was still there. Pete has plans on taking him down to the park or over to the lake in the next week.

egg hunt 2009

Took Ben to the city Easter egg hunt this afternoon. And the weather never disappoints. In the 3 years we've gone, every year it rains/hails as we leave, but I have to admit at 50degrees, it was warmer than years past.
The Easter bunny was there and Ben wanted nothing to do with her. He also wasn't too into getting eggs this year either. Everytime he reached for one some little kid would snag it.. I guess 15,000 eggs isn't enough for some kids.
