In preparation

In preparation of Ben's birthday on Saturday - he took cupcakes to school to share with his class. He picked chocolate with BLUE icing - and said everyone had to wash their face b/c they were messy afterwards. Go figure!

Kite 101

Took Ben out on a kite expedition this afternoon. He had SO much fun! Afterwards we went to the splash pad at one of the parks -- that didn't go over so well.. not to self: Ben's happier playing in pool than sprinklers.

Corn

We went for a bike ride down to the park this evening -- trying to enjoy the weather before we hit our first 90 degree day for July (should happen tomorrow).
We think this is the tallest we've seen the corn in the fields in 10yrs we've lived here.

Finally a haircut

No it's not as much as some of you would like. Yes, it really needed to be cut. At least now you can see his eyebrows - and he's proud of that. I don't think he knew he had them until the other day.

Super- ... ben..dog... weekend

Ben was playing with his SuperBen cape this morning - and out of the blue turns it around and says "Mom look, I'm ApronBoy!"
[ "Mom" is actually pronounced Maaaaaaahm... Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahm! Maaaaaaaaahhhhm! (in 3s) ]
Not sure that was the proud moment of the day.. but it still made me laugh.
Later I found him terrrorizing his dog - with the cape. He was so proud Bailey was now a Super Dog, she on the other hand had a few choice barks and growls just for him. Dogs in their old age.. sheeesh!

Dinosaur Week at 'school'

It's dinosaur week at ben's school - He told us.. "Dinosaurs are dead and that means they're a-stink [extinct]". Then he waves his hand by his nose and says yucky yucky.

July 4th

This weekend we took a quick trip down to Arkansas to help at Pete's dad's house. We were lucky enough to visit with Jacob (and Hank and Tammy) for a few hours. The boys LOVED playing (all 2 hrs) with each other. In 2 hrs they ran A LOT! Hopefully it wore Jacob out some for the long car ride he was about to endure.
