Ut-oh more hats

Ben's a little rotten... I was working Monday morning and it got quiet in the room.. So I went looking for him and found him sitting ON TOP of Bailey watching tv... God love that dog.. she'll put up with just about anything from him.

The Carters and Thanksgiving

Thanks to all who came for Thanksgiving -- we had a wonderful time. It was fun to see Ben enjoying extended family, and he abused his sweetness in ways I haven't seen before. He learned to pronounce a few more words while everyone was here: Hat, Ben, Bath.
A quick recap -
Tues - Grammy and Grandpa arrived
Wed - Aunt Laura and Uncle Pete arrived
Thurs - We went to Fremont to see Pete run, we cooked, ate, and went for a nice walk. Quote of the day "Wooohooooo We're from Kentucky" (in your best Austin Powers Fat Bastard voice).
Fri - Watched football - became disappointed (Texas lost to my brothers team Texas A&M).. Holiday lights at the park with Carter Caroling - Lots of fun.. primed us up for hours (and I mean HOURS) or Karaoke once we got home.. (I have video - it's hilarious - I'll try to have it online soon)
Sat - we browsed the shops at the Old Market, enjoyed something other than leftovers as we ate at Upstream, and attempted to play games but not without the casual ritual of a Carter argument. Quite funny now that we look back - of course it was over scoring of a game.. if you can only imagine...
Sun - Pete and Laura went back to Kentucky
Mon - Tom and Sally went back to Arkansas

Happy Gobble Thanksgiving!!

Everyone arrived safely, except the birds... This morning we got up early and Went to Fremont to cheer on Pete running a Turkey race ... It was a little chilly but he ran well and came in 6th overall.. 11:28 for 2 miles... The weather continued to agree with us.. and we all played with Ben and the dogs outside for a while this morning.. Fried and roasted a bird each.. and both turned out delicious.. We all went for a walk after supper and then ate pie... ummm

First Haircut

Took Ben to the barber shop to get his first haircut tonight... He did really well until the buzzers came out.. But the cut looks So Good... (got rid of the curlies in the back). Now he's ready to meet Aunt Laura and Uncle Pete and see his Grammy and Grandpa in 5 days.





On another note -- WE GOT OUR TICKETS FOR THE BIG XII Championship FOOTBALL game in Kansas City Dec 2nd! Ben gets to go to his FIRST football game.. Let's hope Texas makes it!!

Movin' on up...

Ben's in a "big boy bed"... Yay! After some drama we assembled a Twin bed in Ben's room. He was really excited about it and wouldn't stay off the bed while we were putting it together. It was a little frustrating but sorta cute. He just HAD to sleep in it tonight too (his decision not ours).

A 'possum in the garage!!!

That's right -- gasp, laugh, scream... whatever you feel like doing.. because I think I did all 3... Let's start with - We have a bad habit of leaving the garage door open.. Last night while watching the Texas game we heard noise in the garage and Pete went to investigate.. and he found this!!The darn thing wouldn't leave either! Lie down and play "possum" my butt.. this thing hissed and tried crawling up! Creepy little booger.. Pete ended up sweeping him out.. and closing the garage door.. I think we've learned our lesson... stray cats and dogs are one thing in the garage... 'possums - well I guess it could've been worse -- we have smelt a skunk around here lately..

Happy Election Day

No picture today -- but we got some video -- hopefully to create a movie clip shortly...
Ben decided the best place to hang out is under the table on top of the chairs... I don't know who came up with the idea - him or Bailey.. but that is their "secret" hiding place these days...

Pete pulled out the bass guitar and Ben got a quick lesson in playing tonight.. He seemed quite thrilled making "music". The next Victor Wooten!

Mahoney State Park

Today we went to Mahoney State Park a few miles from the house. We played in the awesome playground, hiked the trails, and checked out the toboggan run. It was a nice warm, sunny day and a perfect end to the weekend.

I have such a cute smile and notice how much I've grown!!








Ok.. well I haven't quite gotten tall enough to see over the counter.. unless I stand on the stool.. and I LOVE this stool.. I push it all over the kitchen to see what's cooking.. (yikes)
